I am the founder of Flights for Freedom, a nonprofit that I started in 2021 during my freshman year of college. For as long as I can remember, joining the military always sat in the back of my mind. But as life unfolded, I realized God had a different plan for me. And as I’ve learned, sometimes the path we didn’t expect leads us to exactly where we need to be.

What started as a simple Facebook post in my dorm room—an idea to help military members get home for the holidays—has since grown into an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission is simple yet profound: to help cover the cost of flights so service members can be with their loved ones during the holidays.

Flights for Freedom has continued to grow from that small Facebook post in my freshman dorm room, into an entire community of people who share that same joy by donating, writing and sending cards, and hearing testimonials. Flights for Freedom has become a labor of love for me, and I’m grateful every day for the chance to serve those who sacrifice so much for our country. Through this journey, I’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible service members and their families, and I’ve been reminded time and again of the importance of family, connection, and community.
